The Lego Batman Movie: The Joker and Robin Revealed
As the Batwing is assembled and loaded up with The Lego Batman Movie goodies for this year’s San Diego Comic Con, USA Today have revealed our first look at both the clown prince of crime, The Joker, and the boy wonder himself, Robin.
We’ve previously met Batman, played with relish by Will Arnett, in both The Lego Movie and the hilarious trailers for his own Lego movies where we got a taste of his towering ego, his insecurities and his cool, cool gadgets.
And now we have a glimpse of his greatest foe, The Joker, as played by Zach Galifianakis.
"The Joker sees himself on the same level as Batman, a peer, at the top of the game," director Chris McKay tells USA Today. "But Batman says that’s not the case, which sends Joker into a spiral trying to prove to Batman that he is indeed the greatest enemy."
McKay and the producers have promised that the story will draw from a number of Batman comic book sources which means we’ll get appearances from the likes of Harley Quinn, who can be seen in the picture below.
Another comic book regular who’ll be putting in an appearance is Batman’s young ward, Robin, played to chipper effect by Michael Cera.
"Lego Batman is About A Boy as directed by Michael Mann," McKay says. "This is a single guy who suddenly has a kid literally drop into his world."
Unsurprisingly, the pair don’t get along.
However with a rogues’ gallery of villains threatening Gotham, they’ll soon have to…
The Lego Batman Movie will be out on February 10 next year.
