Rumour: L.A. Noire Remaster For Consoles And Switch 'With VR Support'

Rockstar Games might be getting ready to release a Remaster of Team Bondi's L.A. Noire for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Switch with possible VR support?

This comes from a series of usually reliable tipsters from within the industry with a Tweet from @Yan2295 back in January this year claiming they've heard Rockstar is working on a Remaster edition for Nintendo Switch.

A little time after that another Twitter user said they've heard the 'L.A. Noire Remaster' was coming not just to Switch but Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as well, and that a late summer window was likely.

Rockstar Games holds the rights to L.A. Noire's IP after its creator Team Bondi folded shortly after the game released. Since then the renowned development house has been very quiet about the IP's future.

Now ComicBook.com has reignited the issue as they say "three separate sources related to Rockstar" have nodded toward not only a remastering of the original game but that virtual reality support might be a feature as prototyping has been going on for the PlayStation release. At the very least we should expect a first-person mode, similar to Grand Theft Auto V.

It seems unlikely now that an L.A. Noire Remaster would be arriving in 2017 given its big absence from the likes of E3 or any marketing noise from Take-Two, but who knows what 2018 might bring? Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption 2 is ready to gallop to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in Spring 2018.
