Rumour: Egypt Based Assassin's Creed Called 'Origins'

Another steamy rumour as apparently the next Assassin's Creed title is subtitled Origins and will indeed be based around Egypt, posts a Reddit user.

This alleged information comes from someone who claims to work at a company that prints marketing material for retailers, specifically handling pre-order cards for upcoming releases. This artwork is for a Gold Edition for a US retailer.

"The game is called Assassin's Creed Origins and looks very much like it's set in Egypt. The artwork had a city with a pyramid in the background. In the centre of the card there is the new assassin walking toward the city. It looked like he was carrying a shield, a bow, and he had a hawk of some sort on his shoulder," posted the Reddit user.

They go on to add that May 30th is likely the ship date for these promotional cards to the retailer and that typically an announcement follows shortly after. This would definitely put a possible reveal for this Assassin's Creed: Origins within range of E3 2017 in June, with a likely Fall/Winter 2017 release date.

This could all be a load of baloney but there's enough to give it some weight. As for any official announcements we'll just have to wait until June 13-16 for when E3 kicks off this year at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California.

The next major Assassin's Creed game will likely be in development for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
