The Nice Guys Angourie Rice Joins Spider-Man: Homecoming
Angourie Rice, who’s breakout performance was one of the highlights of this year’s buddy action flick The Nice Guys, has been cast in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Joining an ever-expanding line up of actors, Rice will join Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, as Marvel and Sony take the character back to his high school roots. As usual, Marvel are keeping schtum on just who she’ll be playing, the big spoilsports.
As for the plot, well, they’re not sharing much about that either. What we do know is that Peter Parker won't have to go through the usual spider-bite rigmarole. We catch up with him after the events of Captain America: Civil War as he attempts to navigate the tricky waters of high school life while also battling bad guys as his web crawling alter ego.
Cast alongside both Holland and Rice are Marisa Tomei, who is once more playing Aunt May, with Robert Downey Jr. finding time to drop in as Tony Stark. Michael Keaton is reportedly the villain known as The Vulture, with Logan Marshall-Green as another baddie. The sprawling cast also includes Martin Starr, Donald Glover, Tony Revolori and Abraham Attah.
Director Jon Watts is currently calling the shots in Atlanta with Spider-Man: Homecoming due for release on July 7 next year.
