Rising Tide - The First Expansion To Civilization: Beyond Earth
2K and developer Firaxis Games have announced the first expansion for their sci-fi strategy game, Civilization: Beyond Earth, will be titled Rising Tide.
Civilization: Beyond Earth lets you take part in an expedition to find a home beyond Earth as you lead your people into a new frontier, explore, and colonize an alien planet, all while creating a new civilization in space. The new expansion will extend upon on the oceanic features.
Rising Tide will allow players to build floating settlements and access submerged natural resources as part of the new options. A new diplomacy system will let you upgrade traits which will change diplomatic relationships with your AI. Four new factions are being introduced including a group of nomad explorers descended from wealthy and resilient Middle Eastern states. Rounding out the update is a new artifact system which encourages collecting and combining alien relics as well as two new biomes to explore.
Civilization: Beyond Earth released on Steam October 23, 2014. Rising Tide is set to hit the Steam store this Fall!
