The Dark Tower First Trailer Arrives
It’s finally here, we’re finally getting our first look at Stephen King adaptation, The Dark Tower and it doesn’t disappoint.
It’s been all quiet on the western front, with scarcely a couple of posters to satisfy fans eager to see if the long-delayed adaptation of King’s fantasy western saga manages to capture the mystery, intrigue and brooding intensity of the books.
If the first trailer is anything to go by, the movie sure looks the part.
Idris Elba plays Roland Deschain, a mysterious ‘Gunslinger’ in an alternative universe known as Mid-World, charged with finding the mythical Dark Tower that will save all existence from extinction. Accompanied by a young boy (Jake Chambers) from our world, the Gunslinger must embark on his quest pursued by the Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey).
Nikolaj Arcel (A Royal Affair) is occupying the director’s chair, which was previously occupied by J.J. Abrams and Ron Howard (Howard is still serving as a producer), with The Dark Tower set to arrive in US cinemas on 4 August, before a UK release a couple of weeks later on 18 August.
