Square Enix have just announced a partnership with Marvel as they unveil The Avengers Project, which is being handled by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal.
There are going to be multiple Marvel-property games coming from Square Enix and their studios with the first revealed as The Avengers Project from Tomb Raider revival experts Crystal Dynamics, and in collaboration with Deus 'Adam Jensen' Ex creator's Eidos Montreal.
"The Avengers project is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be packed with all the characters, environments, and iconic moments that have thrilled longtime fans of the franchise," stated Marvel. "Featuring a completely original story, it will introduce a universe gamers can play in for years to come. More details on The Avengers project and other games will be announced in 2018."
Specifics about what the game actually is remains unknown but the 50 second long teaser heavily implies the main Avenger cast will be involved, and there's to be a 'reassembling'. The other juicy thing to know is that Crystal is developing an original story so it appears not to be a movie tie-in - at least not directly.
The Avengers Project is in development and planned for release in 2018.
