Fox Denies Marvel have Re-acquired Fantastic Four Rights
Fox have denied that Marvel has re-acquired the rights to the Fantastic Four with a movie due in 2020.
A source told Den of Geek that in exchange for the TV rights for X-Men – where Fox where looking to make two series, Hellfire and Legion – with Marvel taking back the Fantastic Four (and the rights to villains Galactus and Doctor Doom, as well as the Silver Surfer) following the announcement of its movie slate leading up to 2020 – with three untitled movies included.
One of those could be Fantastic Four.
Given the reception Fox’s Fantastic Four received this summer, its makes sense that Fox would be receptive to a potential deal for the beleaguered franchise, particularly if the deal is sweetened by the lucrative X-Men TV deal.
However Fox have since claimed that reports are ‘completely untrue’. Fox are still developing Fantastic Four 2.
