The official trailer for Danny Boyle's T2: Trainspotting sequel has been released, with it due in UK cinemas late January 2017.

Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle, Jonny Lee Miller and Ewen Bremner reprise their roles as the boys - Renton, Begbie, Sick Boy and Spud - as they return older but no less dysfunctional as the Trainspotting saga continues.

A new official trailer has been released that's almost 2 minutes long and 20 years late. The original film grossed $72 million worldwide with an Oscar nomination for the script.

"First there was an opportunity......then there was a betrayal. Twenty years have gone by. Much has changed but just as much remains the same. Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) returns to the only place he can ever call home. They are waiting for him: Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), and Begbie (Robert Carlyle). Other old friends are waiting too: sorrow, loss, joy, vengeance, hatred, friendship, love, longing, fear, regret, diamorphine, self-destruction and mortal danger, they are all lined up to welcome him, ready to join the dance," blurbs Sony Pictures Entertainment.

T2: Trainspotting will be in UK cinemas January 27th, 2017 and later in the US February 10th.
