Could The Crow Reboot be About to Collapse?

Things look decidedly dodgy for The Crow remake after production company Relativity filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The company has sold off some of its key assets but The Crow remains in limbo and, with no sign of a Relativity rescue package incoming, if the film fails to find a new home at a different studio, it could be the end of The Crow before its even took flight.

To say that development on the remake had been troubled would be a massive understatement.

Back in 2010, it was Blade helmer Stephen Norrington who was set to offer a new take on the material. Since then? Juan Carlos Fresnadillo was set to direct, before he left, and then the job next went to F Javier Gutierrez. He would depart in due course as well.

As for the leading role? Bradley Cooper was linked at one point, then Tom Hiddleston, then Luke Evans. Some got closer to starring than others.

Finally, it looked as if the project had settled, with Corin Hardy signing on the dotted line to direct. But further problems ensued when Evans dropped out, with Jack Huston signing up instead. You guessed it: Huston dropped out too earlier in the year (you keeping up with this?), although pre-production on the new The Crow has already started in London.

There's no official word yet on where the production stands with work having already commenced, it's vital that an answer comes sooner rather than later for the beleaguered production.
