iPad (2017) Announced, Pre-Orders Begin March 24th
Apple has announced the new fancy iPad for 2017 and it's called 'iPad'. That's it. Just iPad. It's something of a reboot for the smart device and it's nearly here.
This 9.7-inch tablet is Apple's first major launch in 2017 and it arrived via a press release instead of some big launch event. It's a step up from 2016's iPad Air 2 despite the name seemingly falling out of favour for a simpler convention.
"iPad is the world’s most popular tablet. Customers love the large, 9.7-inch display for everything from watching TV and movies, to surfing the web, making FaceTime calls, and enjoying photos, and now it is even more affordable,” said Apple's SVP of Worldwide Marketing, Philip Schiller. "New customers and anyone looking to upgrade will love this new iPad for use at home, in school, and for work, with its gorgeous Retina display, our powerful A9 chip, and access to the more than 1.3 million apps designed specifically for it."
