John Wick: Chapter Three Has Not Been Officially Green Lit Yet
John Wick: Chapter Two has garner a positive critical reception and, surely, it’ll do a killing at the box office over the coming weekend but, there’s no such thing as a ‘sure thing’ – John Wick: Chapter 3 has not been green lit just yet.
Hopes are high for a profitable turn at the box office for Keanu Reeves assassin-of-the-moment but, according to John Wick: Chapter 2 director Chad Stahelski says a third instalment of the franchise has yet to be made 100 percent official.
“I’ll say this: we’ve been asked to give [John Wick 3] thought. No one has been consigned anything specific other than, “we’d like to do one, would you be interested in doing another one?” … Personally, I’d like to be involved in some creative capacity.”
Understandably, Lionsgate are keen to see the numbers for John Wick: Chapter Two before committing to a third chapter but, with an aggressive marketing campaign and a spin-off John Wick Chronicles VR game serving to build the world of John Wick, it seems unlikely that we won’t see him back in action at some point.
