A sequel to Dredd has long been on the cards but, as time passes, it seems less likely that we’ll see another outing for Karl Urban’s judge, jury and executioner.
One man who isn’t giving up just yet is outspoken producer Adi Shankar, who has long lobbied for a sequel to the 2012 movie alongside star Urban, who told Collider that Dredd 2 is still an ongoing concern – although it might not be as live action film.
“If anyone is still wondering, there’s no update on a Dredd sequel, but I’m gonna make it happen at some point” he said. “It may not be live-action, but it’s going to happen at some point. There will be more Judge Dredd at some point.”
At what point that might be remains to be seen. While it’s disappointing to not get a full live action sequel – a full realised curse earth would go down nicely – it’s still encouraging to see those involved are flying the Judge Dredd flag.
