This October's Releases For All Things PlayStation

The spooky month of October is almost upon us and that means another calendar month of releases to feed our gamer appetites. We take a look at what's coming to Sony's PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and the still-going Vita.

Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance - PS4 - October 6th (US) / 9th (UK)

Nippon Ichi's tactical RPG and sixth in the Disgaea series with the story focused on 'revenge'. The demon emperor Void Dark damages many Netherworlds in his rise to power and so the Overlords of the Netherworlds rise up against him and his army of The Lost.

Dragon Age: Inquisition - Game of the Year Edition - PS4 - October 6th

BioWare's GOTY bundle for Dragon Age: Inquisition and all it's released DLC which includes the Jaws of Hakkon, The Descent and the more recent Trespasser which served as an epilogue and tease to the next likely destination for the RPG series.

Rock Band 4 - PS4 - October 6th

It's time Harmonix got the band back together and re-licensed all that music to fuel our dreams of becoming rock legends, albeit with plastic peripherals and zero talent. That's the music industry for you.

Transformers: Devastation - PS4, PS3 - October 6th

PlatinumGames' take on the Transformers series with an emphasis on chaining combos in the fight against the Decepticons. It also embraces the cartoon heritage of Transformers as Megatron tries to turn the Earth into metal, killing all organic life. What a rascal.

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below - PS4, PS3 - October 13th (US) / 16th (UK)

Aside from being quite a mouthful to say, Omega Force's hack and slasher is set in the kingdom of Eursaze where monsters and mankind live together, but suddenly the monsters begin attacking. There's only one thing for it: recover the hearts of monsters.

Minecraft: Story Mode: Episode 1 - The Order of the Stone - PS4, PS3 - October 13th

The first episode of Telltale Games' new adventure series set in Mojang's Minecraft universe. We follow Jessie and his band of fellow fictional players as they set out to find the legendary four adventurers who slayed an Ender Dragon together.

Wasteland 2: Director's Cut - PS4 - October 13th

The launch of inXile Entertainment's revival of the Wasteland RPG series for consoles, which happens to be an enhanced re-release of the original PC version full of graphical and mechanical updates, as well as UI tweaks and even more voiced dialogue.

Corpse Party: Blood Drive - Vita - October 13th (US) / 31st (UK)

A direct sequel to Corpse Party: Book of Shadows and the first in the series to be in 3D, portayed in chibi style. Events take place two months after the 'misuse' of the Book of Shadows and its black magic. Should have stuck with the Book of Harmless Nonsense.

Guitar Hero Live - PS4, PS3 - October 20th

Rebooting the amp of the Guitar Hero series is FreeStyleGames which is going in a different direction, and a six-buttoned plastic guitar. They also use full motion video and the game plays from the perspective of the guitarist on stage in real world concert settings.

Life is Strange: Episode 5 - Polarized - PS4, PS3 - October 20th

Dontnod Entertainment's highly anticipated season finale for Life is Strange where things really do get rather strange, and dark. Events have finally come to a head with a raging storm threatening Arcadia Bay, and Max's very life in peril.

Tales of Zestiria - PS4, PS3 - October 16th (UK) / 20th (US)

JRPG from Bandai Namco and tri-Cescendo where a man called Sorey is blessed by a spirit race known as the Seraphim who try to keep the world stabilised. He must travel the land to fight the Hellion threat where creatures of negative emotions are spawned.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate - PS4 - October 23rd

Ubisoft's latest in the Assassin's Creed franchise and this time (no pun intended) it's set during the Industrial Revolution in London, England. There's plenty of injustice for the Assassin's to take on, all the while raising their own street gang to combat the Templars.

WWE 2K16 - PS4, PS3 - October 27th (US) / 30th (UK)

2K Sports is getting back into the ring and bringing all the soap opera threatrics with it in WWE 2K16, which has Stone Cold Steve Austin as its cover star. It's said to feature the 'largest roster' in the series history with over 120 unique playable characters.
