Eight weeks of Playstation: that's the definition of Spring in Sony's dictionary. Eight new exciting games making their way onto the console across two months. This year has been no disappointment with instant classics such as 'Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number' and 'Axiom Verge' hitting the virtual shelves of the PSN in the last few weeks. Today, 'Bastion' is coming to town.

Creative director for Supergiant Games - Greg Kasavin - wrote on the Playstation Blog today in commemoration of the company's debut title releasing on a new platform. The game originally launched on July 20, 2011 on the Xbox Live Arcade.

For one thing, more than three million people all around the world have bought this game, and for another, it’s earned more than 100 different end-of-year awards and accolades. As you might imagine, this exceeded our wildest fantasies while the game was in development. We just wanted to make a game that felt personal to the seven people on the team, building a game in the living room of a house in a California suburb.

In transitioning to the Playstation 4, developer Blitworks lent a helping hand. The company has previously worked on the Playstation 4 ports of 'Don't Starve' and 'FEZ' and, together, the teams now have Bastion, "with its hand-painted scenery, running at a silky smooth 60 frames per second in 1080p and all that!".

You will find Bastion on the Playstation Store today for $14.99 in North America (launching this Spring for Europe) where Playstation Plus members will receive 10% off during this week of launch. In the weeks to come, we'll be seeing 'Titan Souls' and 'Shovel Knight' catch Spring Fever respectively.
