In a surprising development Matt LeBlanc will be co-hosting the new Top Gear with Chris Evans (no, not Captain America). Fans of the long-running show will know that Matt still holds the record for fastest lap in the show's Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.
"As a car nut and a massive fan of Top Gear, I'm honoured and excited to be a part of this iconic show's new chapter," said LeBlanc. "What a thrill!" He's been enjoying huge success with his new TV show Episodes, mostly shot in the UK, in which he plays an exaggerated version of himself alongside Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan.
"Matt's a lifelong fellow petrolhead and I'm thrilled he's joining Top Gear. Acting out our craziest car notions on screen is a dream job and I know we'll both be debating some epic road trip ideas," added Chris Evans. "We can't wait to share what we've been up to on screen later this year."
Top Gear series 23 begins this May.
