Duncan Jones To Make Mute Before Warcraft Release

The Warcraft movie maybe done but there's still eleven months to go before its release - which is time enough for director Duncan Jones to make his long mooted project, Mute.

With the video game adaptation pushed back to 2016 to avoid clashing with a certain movie set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away - the Moon director looks likely to turn around another film during the post production of Warcraft - with Mute, an adaptation of the upcoming graphic novel he's been working on with Dark Horse and Glenn Fabry, looking likely to be brought to the big screen.

Mute, a Blade Runner-esque tale of a mute bartender who has to tackle the mean streets of a futuristic Berlin in order to find his kidnapped girlfriend, was set to be a graphic novel first - much in the same manner as Darren Aronofksy's The Fountain - but it now could make its debut on the big screen.

Jones has been working on said graphic novel for "literally years".

"There's a very good chance, if I can squeeze [it in] these 11 months, that you'll see the film before you see the graphic novel" he told Empire.

So could we see two Duncan Jones movies in 2016? It's possible; Moon, which was also a low budget Sci-fi movie took roughly a year to film and being as he's now got a bit of free time on his hands to concentrate on this passion project, it's an enticing prospect indeed.
