Jessica Chastain Joins Video Game Adaptation The Division
Last month, Jake Gyllenhaal signed up for Ubisoft’s film adaptation of The Division – despite his previous history with video game adaptations, go out and see Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time or rather don’t – and now, he’ll be joined on the smallpox infected streets of NYC by Zero Dark Thirty’s Jessica Chastain.
The movie will follow the plot of the game where the player becomes an agent off the Strategic Homeland Division, which is looking for the origins of a devastating smallpox outbreak. As the Division begins to rebuild its operation in a dystopian New York City, it'll also have to deal with the crime that has popped up in the wake of the epidemic.
Although there are no details of who she or Gyllenhaal will be playing we’ll put our exp on them being operatives for the titular Division.
The Division the latest in Ubisoft’s game-to-film adaptations, following on the shadowy footsteps of Assassin’s Creed, staring Michael Fassbender.
