The Wicked + The Divine – the Eisner nominated comic book series which sees twelve Gods incarnate as humans who are given the celebrity status of the ultimate rock stars – think Bowie as an actual immortal deity and you get the picture, is coming to TV thanks to the company founded by Matt Fraction and Kelly Sue DeConnick.

The comic series from Kieron Gillen, Jamie McKelvie and Matt Wilson – who count the Young Avengers and Phonogram amongst their titles - debuted last year to critical acclaim and now Deadline reports that Universal Television bought TV the rights for the comic, and that Fraction and DeConnick’s company Milkfed Criminal Masterminds will actually produce the series for Universal TV.

The pair who are also oft-praised for their own work which includes Hawkeye, Sex Criminals, Pretty Deadly, and Captain Marvel, among others, are likely to attempt to bring some of their own properties to the small screen in the future.
