Destiny 2 PC Releasing After Console Launch, Exclusive To Battle.net
Activision and Bungie have confirmed that the long awaited PC debut for the Destiny franchise will come after it's initial release for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Interestingly it will be Blizzard's Battle.net platform on the PC that Destiny 2 will exclusively launch on. This is the first non-Blizzard IP that will grace the launcher and not on Valve's immensely popular Steam service.
"We're not committed to a PC date yet, but at Bungie we're totally committed to making a PC build as great as we can," Bungie told PC Gamer. "Our partnership with Blizzard and being on Battle.net, we want to make sure that this version of the game has the time it needs to bake in the oven so it's a delicious piece of bread when it comes out."
The exact delay between the launch for console and PC hasn't been disclosed but Bungie hope to try and nail down a timeline "in the coming weeks." The pre-order offer of getting into the Destiny 2 Beta this summer still claims 'everyone' gets to join in so it would appear the PC is included.
Destiny 2 releases on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 September 8th, 2017 and on PC later.
