Production on The Batman Might Be Delayed Until 2018
In more disappointing news surrounding the DCEU, Matt Reeves stand-alone Batman movie might not start production until 2018.
Variety reporter Justin Kroll took to Twitter to explain that director Matt Reeves' work on the upcoming War for the Planet of the Apes means that he won't even start pre-production on The Batman until this summer.
It had been previously suggested that The Batman could be released in Summer 2018. Affleck was originally slated to direct the movie, as well as co-write and star. However, in January he stepped down as director, stating: "There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions. Performing this role demands focus, passion, and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require."
Reeves was confirmed as the director this February.
