There could be more giant monster drama between Godzilla and King Kong in the works if reports of behind-the-scenes talks are accurate. Legendary Pictures has apparently moved Kong: Skull Island from Universal to Warner Bros. to produce such a project.

Toho, who created and own the rights to Godzilla, are said to be part of negotiations. It would seem it's moved on from just being thought about to producers looking to actually make something happen. The upcoming Kong: Skull Island from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts and writers Max Borenstein (Gozilla) and Derek Connolly (Jurassic World) is due in March 2017.

Currently the only movie brawl between the two mighty titans is Ishirô Honda's King Kong vs. Godzilla from 1962.

A new Godzilla 2 movie is also in the works which is also being written by Borenstein who has already promised it will build upon the new lore the original has set. If King Kong and Godzilla were to have a showdown again then would it use the newly established universes?
