Crytek Release "Back To Dinosaur Land" VR Tech Demo For Free On Steam
If you idea of fun is to get a Tyrannosaurus Rex in dire need of a breathe mint up in your personal space than Crytek's virtual reality tech demo should be just the thing for you.
It's called Back to Dinosaur Land and simply lets you experience a Jurassic era moment or two. A 2D trailer has been released but really its going to need some VR headgear to truly appreciate how pants filling the experience can be if used properly. As this is Crytek's VR wizardry it's obviously built using their fancy CryEngine 3 engine.
"Back to Dinosaur Island takes advantage of 15 years of CRYENGINE development to show users the sheer endless possibilities that upcoming Virtual Reality devices like the Oculus Rift offer, bringing them face to face with the most terrifying predator that has ever walked the Earth." How does Crytek have the time for this? Well, it's actually not far off from their big VR title Robinson: The Journey.
