It's no secret that Game of Thrones is a big draw for HBO and so there are reportedly up to four different potential spin-off projects in the works.
The enormous interest the fantasy adaptation of George R.R. Martin's novels has stirred is nothing short of envious for many production studios. Fans of the TV drama are always hungry for more plot twists, betrayals and saucy antics.
Game of Thrones is marching toward a closing curtain for the series but HBO has enlisted writers, directors and producers to start cooking up new ideas for spin-offs. There's certainly plenty of source material to work with including a significant trip back in time during the huge rebellion that saw Robert Baratheon become ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. Any specifics remain in flux right now.
"There is no set timetable for these project," HBO remarked, as reported by CNN Media. "We’ll take as much or as little time as the writers need and, as with all our development, we will evaluate what we have when the scripts are in."
Game of Thrones season 7 premieres this July on HBO, with the final season 8 due in Fall 2018.
