Next month production begins on AMC's Feed the Beast, which is a co-production between AMC Studios and Liosngate. It's based on the Danish 'Bankerot' series and is being translated for US consumption by writer Clyde Philips.

“‘Feed the Beast’ is about best friends who, after enduring a life-altering tragedy, decide to open a fine dining restaurant in the Bronx,” described showrunner Phillips. “But at its core, the show is about family and friendship, fatherhood and food, honesty and intimacy. I’m excited to be shooting ‘Feed the Beast’ in the Bronx, the gritty, last frontier of New York’s five boroughs and a location that we’re treating as a main character of the show. Like so much of New York, the Bronx is going through a transition that can be exciting, painful and offers a very rich environment for this authentic, character-driven drama.”

The show revolves around Dion Pappas and Tommy Shannon who are as close as brothers. They both have a dream of opening a fine dining restaurant despite the turbulence of their lives. Their relationship is a volatile one as they manipulate each other along the way, with Dion secretly in debt to the mob and Tommy wanting a better life for his son.

Feed the Beast will premier this May with production beginning next month.
