Goldblum Back To Hack More Alien Spaceships For Independence Day 2
Roland Emmerich has been teasing a sequel to 1996's Independence Day basically since its opening day but until fairly recently very little official was actually on the cards. Well, now we are one step closer to Independence Day 2, or whatever name they settle on; Jeff Goldblum is officially set to return.
Actual details on the film's plot are scarce at this time beyond what can be gathered from the cast. Alongside Jeff Goldblum, Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games) has signed on to play the son of Bill Pullman's President Whitmore. Rumours are also circulating that Pullman may make an appearance though so far his involvement is unconfirmed. Newcomer Jessie Usher (Survivor's Remorse) will also appear as Steven Hiller's (played by Will Smith) son, although it is unknown at this time how large his role in the film will be.
Independence Day 2 currently has a release date of June 24 2016.
