Henry Cavill Joins Mission: Impossible 6 Cast
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it an Instagram post announcing the casting of Henry Cavill in the next instalment of Tom Cruise’s wildly successful stunt ‘em up Mission: Impossible franchise? Well, yes…that’s a little anticlimactic.
Anyway, Cavill’s casting was announced via returning director Christopher McQuarrie's Instagram account, in which McQuarrie, ostensibly sharing a picture of himself scouting locations for the film, used the comments to start an exchange with Cavill about joining up.
It’s a very cute way to announce a casting and, while all the tedious negotiations go on in the background, it’s been confirmed by Variety, that Cavill will play someone who works with Cruise’s boss –whether or not that also means Alec Baldwin will be back after his appearance in Rogue Nation remains to be seen.
Cruise will be once again joined by Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson and likely Jeremy Renner, with The Crown's Vanessa Kirby as another recruit.
