Bryan Cranston Eyeing Role in Uncharted Movie

Bryan Cranston is being considered for a role in Sony’s Uncharted movie.

The movie, in its current incarnation, has gone through numerous directors (David O. Russell, Neil Burger and Seth Gordon) before settling on Shawn Levy with Spider-Man: Homecoming’s Tom Holland as a young Nathan Drake.

The idea to go young with Drake was Head of Sony Tom Rothman’s brain wave – Holland himself also pitched his dream picks for the role of Nathan’s mentor/partner Victor “Sully” Sullivan, naming Chris Pratt and Jake Gyllenhaal as his top choices for the role.

Now, according to The Hashtag Show (via Screen Rant), Cranston is being considered for a “large supporting role” in Uncharted that may or may not be that of Sully. However, with the age difference between Holland and Cranston, it seems more likely he’ll be playing a villain or another side-character.

Holland will begin filming the currently-untitled Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel by mid-2018 for a summer 2019 theatrical release and is currently working on the similarly-untitled Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Avengers 4. That means that the Uncharted movie could begin production as soon as early 2018.
