Here's What You Missed at the PlayStation Experience Keynote

Sony is outright telling you that there has never been a better time to be a gamer and, at their second annual PlayStation Experience event, they've shown us some very convincing evidence. Did you miss the keynote? Here's our rundown of what happened on stage today.

  • Opening the show, we were treated to an extended look at Uncharted 4: A Thief's End as Nathan Drake's lost brother appears at his office. The trailer turns out to be gameplay as somebody makes a dialogue choice, telling Sam about El Dorado before Sam tells Nathan he's in deep trouble.

  • Fans react to the announcement of Final Fantasy VII REMAKE before a brand new trailer shows off gameplay footage, voice acting, character designs, and a battle system similar to that found in Final Fantasy XV.
  • The first map pack coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops III will be coming to PlayStation 4 thirty days before anybody else will be able to play it.

  • Randy Pitchford stepped onto stage to tell PlayStation 4 players that they will be getting first access to the beta for Battleborn, as well as an exclusive character to play for those who take part. Furthermore, a new character was revealed: Toby, a penguin in a mech suit.
  • Street Fighter V's final launch character has been revealed as F.A.N.G, a new challenger for the Shadaloo organisation. Additionally, the leaked post-launch characters are confirmed as Alex, Guile, Balrog, Ibuki, Juri, and Urien. The Season Pass is already available, for some reason.

  • Yakuza 5 will be coming to the West on Tuesday, December 8. Also, Yakuza 0 will definitely be coming to North America but a European release has not been confirmed.

  • The King of Fighters XIV has been confirmed for an exclusive PlayStation 4 release.
  • Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja unite to reboot samurai romp Ni-Oh, also exclusively to PlayStation 4.

  • After a cavalcade of exciting indie games, Brutal brings ASCII art aesthetic to PlayStation 4.
  • Two free-to-play games have been revealed including Guns Up and Fat Princess Adventures, both available today.
  • Ted Price took to the stage to show off Ratchet and Clank for PlayStation 4 which will arrive on April 12.

  • A tech demo for PlayStation VR takes an awkward turn when the wands fail and arms are lost, virtual reality looks clunky and awkward, perhaps we're not as far forward as we think.

  • NOPE! Hidden within a (possibly vibrating) light-up, chrome shell suit, Tetsuya Mizuguchi demonstrates the beauty and fluidity of REZ Infinite, built for virtual reality.
  • More virtual reality titles are demonstrated including animal simulator Eagle Flight, Modern Zombie, and Job Simulator.

  • Brand new developer Highwire Games shows off a CGI trailer for their mysterious debut title; Golem. No Goblin follows, reveals the ridiculous 100ft Robot Golf, in a trailer spoofing Neon Genesis Evangelion.
  • A flurry of 'oh shit's and 'no way's leads us to a spectacular trailer for Ace Combat 7 which will feature virtual reality support.

  • Topping off the show is Epic Games, showing off their new MOBA title Paragon with an open beta coming this summer.
