The New Terminator Reboot Gets a Release Date
I’ll be back…and now we know exactly when he'll return when Tim Miller and James Cameron’s new Terminator reboot hits cinemas.
The elements have been falling into place for a while now; as well as Deadpool director Tim Miller, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton are back and Cameron has been working with writers David Goyer and Josh Friedman to turn his idea of a new trilogy of Terminator films into a reality.
Now Paramount have pencilled in a date for a return to the Terminator universe: 26 July, 2019.
And while details are under wraps, Cameron has said that part of his idea will be to wipe any beyond the original two movies he made from the timeline.
"This is a continuation of the story from The Terminator and Terminator 2," he's said. "And we’re pretending the other films were a bad dream. Or an alternate timeline, which is permissible in our multi-verse. This was really driven more by Tim than anybody, surprisingly, because I came in pretty agnostic about where we took it. The only thing I insisted on was that we somehow revamp it and reinvent it for the 21st century."
Now the job falls to Miller and Cameron to find a new, young female lead for the Terminator reboot.
