First Teaser Trailer for Brad Pitt Satire War Machine

War! What is it good for? Well, satirising the thundering, often incompetent, machine that sets out to protect us.

Brad Pitt goes grey for Netflix’s War Machine, an adaptation of late journalist Michael Hastings’ book The Operators: The Wild And Terrifying Inside Story Of America’s War In Afghanistan.

Directed and adapted by Animal Kingdom and The Rover’s David Michôd, Pitt plays General McMahon, a top commander in the US armed forces, overseeing the conflict and a mission that is riddled with problems, corruption and cock-ups.

The character is loosely (very loosely if you happen to see any lawyers about) based on General Stanley McChrystal, who oversaw the US operation in Afghanistan before he bad mouthed the White House and was recalled and then resigned.

The cast includes Tilda Swinton, Ben Kingsley, Anthony Michael Hall, Will Poulter, Lakeith Stanfield, Alan Ruck and Scoot McNairy. War Machine was originally set to be released late 2016 but will now arrive on Netflix from 26th May.
