First Trailer for Mitch Rapp Movie American Assassin
Former Maze Runner Dylan O’Brien has swapped dystopian YA shenanigans for covert CIA operations in the first adaptation of Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp novels, American Assassin.
Directed by Michael Cuesta, from a script by Stephen Schiff which adapts Flynn's 2010 tome, which takes us right back to Rapp’s early days at the CIA and even before that. Rapp is discovered when the women he loves is killed during a terrorist attack. Sworn to destroy the people responsible, he's recruited by the agency, which thinks it can channel his tendencies into becoming a killer for the government.
However, to go from grieving boyfriend to weapon of the state, he’ll need some training, so cue mentor Stan Hurley (Michael Keaton), a secretive, grizzled Cold War veteran.
With Sanaa Lathan and Taylor Kitsch also in the cast, American Assassin has a 15 September release date in its sights.
