Marvel Working on AAA Titles "for the Future"
At their San Diego Comic-Con panel today focusing on Marvel digital content, we caught word of upcoming console-based titles coming from Marvel at some point in the future.
Don't get too excited just yet, True Believer! The games are a little while off, the first details we'll be getting will arrive at some point next year, probably at the next SDCC. According to Marvel Games producer Mike Jones, who spoke in response to a fan's question, Marvel will be taking a "controlled, less-is-more, quality-focused, developer-focused strategy."
Jones said, "We are very much focused on what our console strategy will be for the future. Obviously console games take a lot longer to incubate, so that will be a slower process for us."
If you're not too big a fan of what Telltale Games is offering with their expected 2017 Marvel collaboration, Jones made sure to point out other console projects are ongoing behind the scenes.
