Ripley Returns in New Alien Film
Since the confirmation last week that Neill Blomkamp was making his once-cancelled sequel to the Alien franchise there has been speculation as to whether Sigourney Weaver would reprise her role. We know from the concept art Blomkamp released that he intended for her to appear, but we now know for certain that we can expect to see Ellen Ripley in Alien 5.
While this is the fifth movie in the Alien series, not considering Prometheus or the Alien Vs Predator films, it isn't clear if this will be Alien 5. Blomkamp has in fact been shaky on how this film will fit into the series. He has said that he wishes this film to follow the first two Alien films, but that he doesn't want to undo the second two films, which were less well received by critics and fans.
There is still no word yet on a release for the film, or any idea about what the plot might be. Would you prefer it if Blomkamp ignored Alien 3 and Alien: Resurrection, or do you want this film to follow on from the last?
