Now You See Me 3: John M. Chu To Direct

Now You See Me 2 has yet to materialise incinemas but already Lionsgate are conjuring up another sequel – with director JonM. Chu, to return to direct Now You See Me 3

The second sequel for Now You See Me was
actually announced last year but now we know who will be bringing the magical third
heist film to the big screen. There’s no word yet on which members, if any,
will return for the third part.

Chu, who replaces original director Louis
Leterrier in the sequel, seems to be the go-to guy when it comes to pulling
sequels out of hats. He’s previously turned his hand to Step Up 2: The Streets,
Step Up 3D and G.I. Joe: Retaliation – which was a vast improvement on the
original toy based action film – and, for his sins, concert documentary, Justin
Bieber: Never Say Never.

What will happen in the third part is very
much open to speculation, being as we don’t know how the sequel will play out
first (If anything it serves as a vote of confidence from the studio for Now
You See Me 2).

Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Jesse
Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine are all back for Now
You See Me 2. However, Lizzy Caplan has stepped up as a new character in place
of Isla Fisher, who became pregnant before production was supposed to begin,
and thus couldn’t take part. It would be safe to assume that all would return,
including Isla Fisher.

Joining the cast will be Daniel Radcliffe.
Co-star Michael Caine has commented in the past that Radcliffe will be playing
his son.

The Harry Potter star’s character is said to be Walter Marby, whileMichael Caine plays Arthur Tressler. They don’t have the same name, but maybethat’s misdirection for the twist that will be Radcliffe helping his father get
revenge on the magicians who tricked his father in the first film. We’ll have
to wait and see.

The official synopsis for Now You See Me 2 reads:

“The Four Horsemen (Jesse Eisenberg, Woody
Harrelson, Dave Franco, Lizzy Caplan) return for a second mind-bending
adventure, elevating the limits of stage illusion to new heights and taking
them around the globe. One year after outwitting the FBI and winning the
public’s adulation with their Robin Hood-style magic spectacles, the
illusionists resurface for a comeback performance in hopes of exposing the
unethical practices of a tech magnate. The man behind their vanishing act is
none other than Walter Marby, a tech prodigy who threatens the Horsemen into
pulling off their most impossible heist yet. Their only hope is to perform one
last unprecedented stunt to clear their names and reveal the mastermind behind
it all.”
