Edgar Ramirez (Carlos) and Darren Criss (Glee) have joined the third series of Ryan Murphy’s American Crime Story anthology.
The ten-episode story will explore the July 1997 assassination of legendary designer Gianni Versace (played by Ramirez). Serial killer Andrew Cunanan (played by Criss) was behind the death and committed suicide eight days later as Miami Dade police were on the verge of capturing him.
Versace: American Crime Story will be based on Maureen Orth’s novel Vulgar Favors with Tom Rob Smith (London Spy) set to write the first two episodes along with several subsequent episodes.
Murphy is already developing a fourth season which will deal with the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky saga.
