Uncharted Director Now Shawn Levy
Sony Pictures has given the director's chair to Shawn Levy for the planned Uncharted feature film, starring the lovable rogue Nathan Drake.
The most recent draft script for the film was by Joe Carnahan, who was also tipped to direct it but has since moved on to another project. That means Levy, the man behind Night at the Museum, Cheaper by the Dozen and even five episodes of Lassie (yes, Lassie), will now steer the Uncharted movie ship.
Naughty Dog's Uncharted series has effectively concluded with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, although Sony and the studio are unlikely to ever let it gather dust. Most recently Shawn Levy has been producing and directing for the Netflix series Stranger Things.
Uncharted currently has no release schedule from Sony Pictures. It will follow the original game where Nathan Drake sets out to discover the infamous golden city of El Dorado, and recover a lost treasure left by his ancestor Sir Francis Drake.
