Alicia Vikander Stars in New Tomb Raider Image
Lara Croft looks ready to raid some tombs in the latest image from the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot.
Taking Croft back to basics, the new movie follows the path beaten by the recent Tomb Raider game reboot, and stars Oscar-winner Alicia Vikander as a London based bike courier who sets off on an epic adventure to find her missing father, played by Dominic West.
Offering a more grounded, grittier take on the series, the latest image comes courtesy of Empire and reflects that drive to show a more human Croft.
Vikander told the magazine: “We asked, ‘What are the famous traits of this person?’ How can we demonstrate them in the story, but make her feel like a young woman in 2018?’”
Directed by Roar Uthaug (The Wave), and co-staring Walton Goggins and Daniel Wu, Tomb Raider will explode into cinemas on Mar 16, 2018.
