German company YAGER Developments will no longer be working on Deep Silver's 'Dead Island 2' over recent concerns about the game's quality. This news comes after a delay pushed the game back until 2016 in order to "create the sequel that takes Dead Island to the next level".

Deep Silver made the official announcement today with a short statement telling all; "With Dead Island 2, Deep Silver has always been dedicated to delivering the sequel that Dead Island fans deserve. After careful consideration, today we announce the decision to part ways with development partner YAGER. We will continue working towards bringing our vision of Dead Island 2 to life, and we will share further information at a later stage."

It'll be interesting to see who Deep Silver picks up to work on the title after the developers of the original Dead Island - Techland - created Dying Light earlier this year. As for YAGER Developments, the company is most famous for creating the sublime and subversive third-person shooter Spec Ops: The Line.
