Dystopian Thriller State Of Mind Announced For PC, PlayStation 4, & Xbox One
From Martin Ganteföhr, the creative mind behind games such as Overclocked: A History of Violence & The Moment of Silence, comes State of Mind, a 3D dystopian adventure title.
Set in Berlin, 2048, the game is a thriller that delves deep into transhumanism. (The belief or theory that the human race can evolve beyond its current physical and mental limitations, especially by means of science and technology.)
In the game's world, resources will be scarce, overpopulation and war will continue to grow, and this is all while robotics and cyber technology seem to be the herald of global catastrophe. In the wake of all this, humanoid robots claim human rights, while the military and futurists try to create artificial life.
You'll play as Richard Nolan, a father and journalist trying to survive with his family. To get away from the struggles of his world, he conducts a mind transfer, relocating his thoughts to an alternate reality and peaceful place called City 5.
However, when something goes wrong during the upload, he suddenly now exists in both places: real world Berlin and in a second, incomplete version through virtual space. It will be up to you to reunite him with his virtual self and his family, reclaiming salvation.
State of Mind is expected to release Q1 2017.
