Released to coincide with the Winter Olympics, I, Tonya first teaser has pirouetted online.
The story focuses on the sensational take on the story of polarizing U.S. figure skater Tonya Harding (Margot Robbie) and the attack on Nancy Kerrigan (Caitlin Carver) before the 1994 Winter Olympics that captivated a nation.
According to Deadline, I, Tonya has been picking up buzz on the festive circuit - Robbie just earned a Gotham Award this morning for her portrayal of the titular Tonya, while Allison Janney’s performance as her abusive mother is also generating buzz.
Directed by Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl), the film co-stars Sebastian Stan, Julianne Nicholson, Bojana Novakovic, and Bobby Cannavale, I, Tonya is released on December 8th.
