First Trailer for Netflix Documentary Fire Chasers
Promising to be a wakeup call for climate change deniers, Fire Chasers, Netflix documentary series about California firefighters combating increasingly common and severe wildfires, deals directly with the effects of climate change.
Exploring how climate change, altered vegetation patterns, and drought have made these natural disasters more frequent and more devastating to the landscape, the documentary series features graphic time lapses depicting fires eating up stretches of land and emotional testimonials from firefighters and fire victims.
Original Productions (Deadliest Catch) produced the project, which will follow both the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Cal Fire, as well as women at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s “Fire Camp” and two artists documenting through photography and “artifact retrieval.” It will also interview victims of wildfires who have lost their homes to the blazes.
Fire Chasers premieres on Netflix Sept. 8.
