Detective Pikachu Movie Eyeing Four Action Movie Stars
Legendary Pictures have assembled quite the wish list of Hollywood talent for the main role in the upcoming Detective Pikachu.
According to That Hashtag Show (via IGN), Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson are all allegedly among the studio's top choices to voice the titular character. However, none of the actors have taken any meetings yet about the role.
Following the massive success of Pokemon Go, Legendary decided to move forward with the adaptation of the game, Great Detective Pikachu: Birth of a New Team, which was released in Japan last year and has yet to make its way to the west.
Detective Pikachu will be directed by Rob Letterman (Goosebumps) with Marvel screenwriter Nicole Perlman and Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch writing the screenplay.
The film will begin production in London in January of next year.
