Blizzard May Bring Seasons to Diablo 3 on Console
Currently exclusive to the PC version of the title, the Seasons feature has long been sought after by console Diablo III players. However, in a recent interview, senior game producer Rob Foote has suggested this may no longer be the case.
The Seasons feature allows player to create a new character which will only be able to interact with other Season-based characters. With each Season comes new exclusive loot, leaderboards, and achievements and, once a Season passes, characters return to the roster as regular characters.
The reasoning behind the lack of Seasons on the console version is simple, it's "because of the way [consoles are] set up," said Foote. "Sometimes Seasons aren’t really about the leaderboard, but having a fresh start, experiencing the game again and feeling like you’re part of a larger community than yourself where the excitement around Diablo is there. So I think maybe that’s something we need to re-evaluate again. We’ll probably go back and revisit that decision."
