Assassin's Creed TV Series Confirmed 'In The Works'

A recent AMA on Reddit with Ubisoft's Head of Content for Assassin's Creed, Aymar Azaizia, has confirmed that they do have a TV series 'in their plans'.

With the successful jump to the big silver screen Ubisoft now turns its attention to TV. The publisher has experimented a little with this before in the Assassin's Creed universe as they released a mini-series called Assassin's Creed: Lineage in 2009.

That mini-series focused on prequel events to Assassin's Creed II, which is highly regarded among the franchise as one of the best games as it introduced the young assassin Ezio Auditore.

It's unclear what an actual effort into a TV series will involve considering it could  touch on any time period. Would it even involve a modern day element or possibly stick to exploring an assassin's guild in the past, for example?

"It's like the movie guys, we will take our time, to get sure we deliver something we can be proud of, but if you wander if it's on our plan... YES," Aymar Azaizia teased in the Reddit AMA.

Much remains unknown about the untitled Assassin's Creed TV series, including when it could possibly first air. For a look at what Ubisoft can accomplish when it comes to live action drama in the Assassin's Creed universe check out the full Assassin's Creed: Lineage 'movie' below.
