Pokémon Nintendo Direct Today, Rumour: Pokémon Stars 'A Sequel' To Sun & Moon

Could a sequel to Pokémon Sun & Moon be announced imminently for E3 2017? Rumour has it that's what the new codenamed project 'Pokémon Stars' is about.

Not its official name but it is believed to be in the works for Nintendo Switch, but also for 3DS if the rumour holds true. It all stems from a Pokémon-themed Nintendo Direct that's fuelling this fire. Some alleged concept artwork has been dropped too.

It will take place a number of years after the events in Sun & Moon and set entirely in Alola. It will explore the deeper mysteries brought about by the two original games but will in fact be a singular game and not a duel release. The Switch and 3DS versions are said to be 'compatible' with each other and can communicate, though whether that means cross-play or transferable saves in unknown.

Pokémon Stars is also said to add no new Pokémon to the roster or mega evolutions and will dispose of trials, but is believed to add exclusive Z-moves and a new form for Necrozma. All of this rumour should be taken with an overdosing of salt.

Tune in to Nintendo Direct today June 6th @ 7am PST / 10am ET / 3pm BST / 4pm CEST to learn more.

Pokémon Stars is rumoured to be in development for Nintendo Switch and 3DS.
