After letting fly a few tidbits about Season 4 of Arrow on Saturday, Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim has revealed (via Twitter) that production on the first episode has begun.

Featuring a story by Greg Berlanti & Beth Schwartz with a teleplay by Guggenheim & Wendy Mericle, the episode will be directed by Thor Freudenthal (Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, also scripted by Guggenheim) and will officially be titled “Green Arrow.”

Other details revealed leading up to production on Season 4 include the appearance of classic Batman character Anarky and that Justice Society character Mr. Terrific will also debut on the series, where he will work closely with Felicity. It was also announced that John Diggle will finally be getting his own costume and that Thea Queen is officially “Speedy” on the team.

Just what will happen to that team now that Oliver Queen had left Starling City with hopes of staring a new life remains to be seen. Will the Arrow ever truly be able to leave his past behind? Will Diggle, Thea, and Laurel be left to continue Oliver’s crusade without him? And with Malcolm Merlyn having ascended to the top of the League of Assassins as the new Ra’s al Ghul, is anyone really safe?

Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Katie Cassidy as Dinah “Laurel” Lance, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, and John Barrowman as Malcom Merlyn and returns Wednesday, October 7 at 8:00pm ET/PT.
