Jason Isaacs Will Be Star Trek: Discovery Captain
Lucius Malfoy himself, Jason Isaacs is the captain of the Discovery in the brand-new Star Trek series.
Taking the role of Captain Lorca in Star Trek: Discovery, Isaac enters a fine linage of actors such as William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew, and Scott Bakula, only, unlike those Federation captains, Lorca won’t be the focus of the show. Instead, Sonequa Martin-Green's Rainsford, referred to by the crew as Number One and her journey will be the primary focus.
Isaacs is set to join the likes of Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, James Fran, Terry Serpico, Maulik Pancholy and Sam Vartholomeos as regulars, with Mary Chieffo, Chris Obi, Shazad Latif and Michelle Yeoh set as recurring characters.
Created by Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman, Discovery, a prequel to the original Star Trek, will be available for streaming on CBS All Access in America and on Netflix for the rest of the world from May.
