Insomniac's Spider-Man Scheduled For 2017
The upcoming Spider-Man from PlayStation developer Insomniac Games is getting ready to web sling to the PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro later this year.
The major movie - Spider-Man: Homecoming - will be on Blu-Ray close to Christmas so it would help if the new Spider-Man game hit before or around that time. Insomniac are the guys and gals behind the classic Spyro series, Ratchet & Clank and the sci-fi shooter Resistance.
It's an action adventure set in an open-world New York City, as have many Spider-Man games before, with web-slinging and web-crawling joining more everyday parkour moves to travese the Big Apple.
Marvel approached Sony back in 2014 wanting them to develop the game as if it were a first-party title, and thus it will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive. Spider-Man will be telling a new original story not tied to events in a film or comic book outside the general lore. It will feature both Peter Parker and Spider-Man aspects of the world with a more experienced web-slinger fighting crime.
Spider-Man releases on PlayStation 4 in 2017.
