Patrick Ness’ A Monster Calls is creeping its way to cinemas courtesy of The Orphanage’s Juan Antonio Bayona.

Ness – who’s currently working on Doctor Who spin-off Class – spun this tale, a sort of negative version of The B.F.G, which was conceived by Siobhan Dowd and sees a young boy whose mother is suffering from terminal cancer, visited by a storytelling monster in the night time.

The film written by Ness and Bayona, is a year away from release and features Liam Neeson, who is providing the English voice of the monster; the mother is played by Felicity Jones; Lewis MacDougal is young Connor the protagonist; Sigourney Weaver and Toby Kebbell are in their too.
